Just random stuff

This is post 150. Wow!

---------------

First off, Happy Birthday mom! Hope you have a super day. Enjoy a cup of tea!

---------------

I keep adding to my list of blogs. One that will be joining soon after URLs are changed is "mama speak". It is written by my friend Kacey. Kacey is John's wife, and John is my husband's best friend from childhood. John also has a blog I will list.

Hans was really excited to hear that John and Kacey have blogs that he can read! He proclaimed, "everyone has blogs!" I told him he could start one. He laughed. He also said he was surprised so many people read my blog. Ok, I don't get a ton of traffic, but friends and family, not sure why the "surprise"... but whatever. I told him he was welcome to read it if he wants... his response?

"But I live with you."

I guess that means I can talk about him behind his back here! ;-)

I had a meeting with my mentor yesterday and he encouraged me not to get too overconfident about a promotion after my talk with my manager on Friday. She is new, wet behind the ears, and probably doesn't realize the tactical error she made in giving me a copy of her criteria out of her notebook. However, he did encourage me to use it to my advantage since I have it in my possession. He also told me that he believes our new manager to be fair, unlike our previous manager (love nuggets like this...). He said that our previous manager has had his list in his head on who he is going to promote and doesn't care about input from others or how or what you put on your contribution report. He expects our new manager to take the input from others seriously.

And speaking of that did I put him down for input? Umm no. I didn't. My reasoning was that I don't work for Dave. My only interaction with him is as a mentor. "Oh." he said despondently. I told him I could e-mail and add him? Nope, that would be suspicious. I told him that I did tell her he was my mentor and she was excited about that. He said, "well then she would be stupid not to include me in her input list". I just hope she remembers.

My pissy project manager stopped by my office yesterday. He asks, "Did you get the pump and tee you needed for the project?"

Me, "Umm no, those were the things I e-mailed you about saying I needed them to go forward".

PPM, "Oh, ok. Guess I will get those for you."

10 to 1 he has forgotten and is now on vacation. With regards to this project... 9-30 (fiscal year end) cannot come soon enough.
